Carved wooden head with painted black hair drawn away her face into a coiled chignon with gold comb at the back of her head, carved and tinted facial features with deeply set eye sockets, cloth body, wooden hands. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Door of Hope, circa 1915. Value Points: outstanding detail of sculpting especially cheekbones and chin, rare hairstyle, and wearing rare black silk lined tunic over black pants, undershirt.
