16" (41 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, rose blushed eye shadow, arched feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with shaded and accented lips in tentative smiling expression, brunette mohair wig with braided coronet over cork pate, pierced ears, kid poupee body with gusset-jointing at hips and knees, square-cut collarette, wooden arms with dowel jointing at shoulders, elbows and wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: D. (head and shoulders). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1872, in which year the model was deposed. Value Points: pristine condition of the deposed smiling poupee with flawless bisque, rare original body, and wearing fine antique silk costume with fitted jacket and matching skirt, blue silk wrap with silk fringe edging, undergarments, heeled shoes, tiny metal purse.
