14" (36 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, grey glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, delicately painted lashes and brows, accented eye corners and nostrils, closed mouth with smiling expression enhanced by defined accent lines, impressed laughter crinkles at lip corners, defined philtrum, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, French kid poupee body with square cut collarette, gusset-jointing at elbows, hips and knees, stitched and separated fingers, nicely costumed. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: D. Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1872, the facial model was deposed by his firm in that year. Value Points: beautiful expression with exquisite detail of facial painting, gentle smile, original body.
