Description
3 1/2" (9 cm.) One-piece all-bisque figure of a seated elephant holding a Kewpie on its lap, while Kewpie appears a bit frightened as he attempts to make his get-away; the elephant clasps Kewpie's right leg while Kewpie holds onto the elephant's curled trunk, and Kewpie's eyes are glancing away beseechingly. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 9380 (incised numbers on back). Comments: Germany, circa 1915. Value Points: very rare action Kewpie in wonderful delighted pose.
