13" (33 cm.) Solid domed bisque shoulderhead, blue glass inset eyes, painted lashes, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line, blonde mohair wig, muslin stitch-jointed body with bisque arms. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 1234 Germany 3 dep. Comments: Alt, Beck and Gottschalk, circa 1885. Value Points: pristine original condition, the little closed mouth doll is wearing traditional folk costume of Netherlands including lace coiffe with decorative metallic ornaments, and is preserved in her original box from Strauss & Co of Amsterdam, specialists in dolls of national costumes.
