Description
20"l. x 11"h. The open front room with wooden framed walls and floor has original flowered wall papers with applied decoupage suggesting lavender Wedgewood medallions depicting Grecian scenes; and original floor papers in Art Nouveau designs. The corners have set-in triangular faux-windows with luxuriously draped silk curtains which matches the upholstery on chairs and mirror frame, and lace curtain panels. The room is furnished with original wooden salon pieces, each decorated with gilt edging and some with floral decoupage, including fireplace and mantel mirror, upright piano and stool, fernery, oval pedestal table, settee, two arm chairs, two side chairs, and foot stool, and along with decorative porcelain plates and silver-metal candlesticks and clock. There are two German all-bisque dolls with cobalt blue eyes, swivel head, jointed limbs, factory original costumes, along with a white fluffy fur dog. Overall excellent, some dustiness. French, circa 1890, an original paper label on outside side wall indicates "salon"; attributed to Louis Badeuille and successors, who specialized in this luxurious style Parisian salon with furnishings and lavish curtains.
