9 1/2" (24 cm.) The soft-paste majolica figurine depicts Uncle Sam as a Brownie standing upon a self-base which simulates stony ground, with three barrel jars arranged around him; the Brownie has a sculpted classic Uncle Sam costume including open-top top hat designed for use as candle holder. Incised 3191 from the series. Excellent condition. Circa 1895, inspired by the Palmer Cox Brownie illustrations.
