16" (41 cm.) All stockinette doll with firmly-pressed facial features, thick blonde impasto short curly hair, stitched-on blushed ears, painted large brown eyes with painted curly upper lashes, white eyedots, single stroke brows, accented eye corners and nostrils, closed mouth, cotton sateen body cover, stitch-jointing at shoulders and elbows, hips and knees, oil-painted lower arms and legs. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Chase (logo on upper leg). Comments: Martha Chase, circa 1900. Value Points: outstanding original condition of the beautifully-preserved child with artistic painting, especially of hair, complexion, and eyes, original costume, undergarments, socks and shoes.
