Bisque socket head, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, mauve-blushed eye shadow, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over original Steiner pate, Steiner composition fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Sie C (incised) J. Steiner Bte SGDG Bourgoin (red ink script). Comments: Jules Steiner, circa 1884, his series C model. Value Points: very rare exhibition size model of the wistful-faced child with superlative quality of bisque, modeling and painting, original body and body finish, beautiful antique pique costume, gorgeous antique bonnet, shoes, undergarments; few examples of the model in this size are known to exist and another example of this quality and perfect state of preservation is nigh impossible to find.
