15" (38 cm.) All cloth doll with center-seamed bedpost-shaped head, flat-dimensional face, black painted hair with two spit curls on either side of forehead, simplistically-painted facial features, outlined eyes with large black pupils, single-stroke brows, accented nostrils, tiny closed mouth, muslin body with stitch-jointing, painted black ankle boots, Condition: very good, original finish, some rubs on face. Comments: American, circa 1880. Value Points: rare little doll with original finish, wonderfully-detailed curls, original costume.
