12" (30 cm.) Carved wooden head, carved and painted hair with delicate tendrils of curls onto her forehead, then looped over her ears and forming into a large coiled chignon held by three gold barrettes and an elaborately woven head scarf, carved and tinted facial features, cloth body. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Chinese Door of Hope Mission, circa 1910. Value Points: extremely rare model in perfectly preserved condition, with rare coiffure, and wearing Imperial bridal costume of red silk tunic and skirt with gold medallion embroidery, red silk underblouse, white cotton underblouse, red silk trousers, tiny red slippers and an elaborately beaded headdress.
