Description
16" (41 cm.) All-cloth doll, stitch-jointing at shoulders and hips, cardboard heart, brown worsted yarn hair, black shoe button eyes, painted facial features with six lashes under each eye, lightly-outlined slanted nose, broad grin on thin line mouth, red and white narrow-striped stockings, brown sewn-on shoes, original patterned dress, pinafore, and pantalets. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Patented Sept 7, 1915. Comments: Raggedy Ann by Volland, circa 1920, unusual to find hand-painted features. Value Points: rare early model of the beloved storybook doll with most endearing expression.
