7" (18 cm.) doll. 5"l. shoe. Including a porcelain shoulder head doll with black hair waved from face into rolled chignon and highlighted by stippled details around the face, painted blue eyes, black upper eyeliner, single stroke brows, closed mouth, kid body, paper mache lower legs, lovely silk costume. Along with a black leather child's shoe in which "live" 12 porcelain dolls, mostly of the Frozen Charlotte type, with antique costumes, depicting the nursery rhyme "old lady who lived in a shoe". Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1880. Value Points: delightful assemblage depicting the classic rhyme, and finely detailed painting on the dollhouse lady.
