Description
6" (15 cm.) A bisque figure of ballerina in dainty bowing pose, with arms outstretched and head turned, has black sculpted hair, painted features, ruffled skirt, and is posed atop a separate bisque base with little lamp in the center and recess for holding perfume. When lit, the lamp was designed to diffuse the perfume through the small holes at the side of the ballerina's hair. Condition: generally excellent, except lacking cord. Comments: Fulper, circa 1920s, who advertised the novelty as "Lumier de Parfum, a dainty perfume burner...made of exquisite translucent porcelain...available at the better shops".
