32" (81 cm.) Bisque socket head with very full cheeks, deep blue glass paperweight inset eyes, thick dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brushstroked brows, mauve- blushed eye shadow, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with shaded and outlined lips, impressed chin and philtrum dimples, separately modeled pierced ears, mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body with very plump limbs and straight wrists, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks:15 (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, the portrait bebe sculpted by Carrier-Belleuse, circa 1882. Value Points: rare grand size with gorgeous delicate bisque enhanced by depth and clarity of paperweight eyes, original body and body finish.
