Each has earthenware sculpted head and shoulder plate, enamel eyes, painted complexion and facial features, hemp-wrapped body, earthenware hands and lower legs with sculpted shoes and stockings; he has bald pate and is wizened, gaunt and gap-toothed, and is wearing blue silk long jacket with lining, vest, silk trousers, and carries a wooden stick in his expressively-posed fingers, and she has an ample bosom, brown sculpted windblown hair under wrapped scarf, and is wearing a lavish tinsel-trimmed silk and cotton gown. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Neapolitan, early 1800s. Value Points: compelling and expressive features on perfectly-preserved features.
