10 1/2" (27 cm.) and 12". Each has wooden socket head, with carved and painted facial features and delighted smiling expression, cloth body with stitch-jointed shoulders and legs, wooden hands. The groom with painted black cap and wearing black silk jacket with floral applique and blue skirt over trousers, black slippers. The bride with carved black hair in stylized short bob, wearing superb costume of black silk jacket with embroidered medallions, aqua cuffs to match aqua silk underblouse and long pants, red silk skirt with embroidery, and blue slippers with dainty embroidery. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Chinese Door of Hope, circa 1930, depicting the third era of bride and groom with distinctive facial modeling including painted teeth on smiling bride.
