11" (28 cm.) Solid domed bisque socket head, blue glass inset eyes, painted lashes, brushstroked brows with feathered details, accented nostrils, closed mouth, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig, Sonneberg composition and wooden fully-jointed body, straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 2. Comments: Sonneberg, circa 1880, the doll was designed to appeal to the French market, and closely resembles early Jumeau bebes in facial modeling as well as costuming. Value Points: the petite bebe wears original burgundy silk dress, woven bonnet with silk lining, undergarments, socks, shoes.
