20" (51 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate with modeled bosom and shoulderblades, very plump cheeks and chin, brown glass paperweight inset eyes, black eyeliner, painted lashes, rose-blushed eye shadow, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, plump kid bebe body with gusset-jointing of hips and knees, one-piece curved kid upper arms, bisque lower arms and hands. Condition: generally excellent, bisque head and hands perfect, body very sturdy, very faint (likely original) small hairline low on front shoulderplate. Marks: Bru Jne 7 (head) No. 7 (shoulderplate). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, rare transitional early model, having the so-called "brevete" expression, yet having the Bru Jne markings, circa 1878. Value Points: important early model of Bru bebe with transfixing beauty of both modeling, bisque and painting, perfect bisque hands, antique velvet dress with lace collar and cuffs, fine lace bonnet, undergarments, very fancy leather shoes.
