19" (48 cm.) Chip-carved wooden head and torso-to-waist, angular face, elongated throat, carved hair loosely waved from face and captured in a spiral-woven braid at the back held by a carved comb, carved and painted facial features, aquiline nose, closed mouth, sculpted earrings, kid body with wooden lower arms and legs, painted stockings and black boots, one hand sculpted to hold an object, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent, patching on kid body. Comments: Swiss, late 1800s. Value Points: rare figure with exceptional detail of carved hair and jewelry.
