Description
8 1/2" (22 cm.) Chestnut wooden slant-front desk with hinged front features three bottom drawers with incised line edging, wooden knobs, interior draw behind the lid, bracket feet and straight apron. There are wooden drawer pulls, bronze escutcheons, and a mother-of-pearl decoration accent on the outside lid. The inside of the lid has pencil inscription which is largely illegible but contains the name Theobold and the date 1820. Generally excellent, English, early 1800s.
