Description
15" (38 cm.) Bisque shoulder head with pale bisque and very plump face,cobalt blue enamel eyes,dark eyeliner,painted lashes,feathered brows,accented nostrils,open mouth with two rows of tiny teeth,blonde lambswool wig over cork pate,carton torso and carton skirt-shaped lower body,bisque arms to above the elbows,curled fingers,metal three-spoked wheels,with clockwork mechanism in skirt. When wound,the doll glides in circles and then forward. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Jules Steiner,fabricant (paper label,with ink lettered delivery indication to M. Scherrer,7/3/67). Comments: Jules Steiner,1867. Value Points: one of the earliest Steiner deposed models,the graceful lady has very fine pale bisque and rare original label.
