17" (43 cm.) Bisque socket head, blue glass enamel inset eyes with spiral threading in large side-cut eye sockets, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, mauve blushed eye shadow, feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body with straight wrists, early brown silk bebe dress (possibly original). Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 1 (head). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1877, earliest period bebe. Value Points: rare luxury production of the early bebe includes wide eyes (referred to as "wrap-around"), finest bisque, original body and body finish, early costume includes kidskin shoes signed E. Jumeau.
