22" (56 cm.) figure. 29" with stand. Gofun complexion, high domed forehead with shaded hair at crown framed by inset black floss hair tied in knot at back of crown, brown enamel downcast eyes as though looking at the puppet dangling from his right hand, wearing original purple/black kimono with purple crepe-lined sleeves beneath a black and white checkered tunic, sash, unusual monogram on shoulders. With puppet in padded silk kimono. Posed upon a black lacquer stand. Excellent condition. Japanese, Showa era.
