10" (25 cm.) Bisque socket head, very deep amber brown paperweight glass inset eyes, eyeliner, painted lashes, brush-stroked and feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with richly defined lip accents, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully jointed body with straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Depose E 2 J (and artist checkmarks on head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1883, the deposed model of his signature doll. Value Points: gorgeous model of the rare petite early bebe with entrancing eyes, finest painting especially of lips, original body and body finish, original wig with original Jumeau earrings, cream kidskin shoes incised "2", original peach silk dress with Alencon lace trim, matching feathered bonnet, pantalets, and original Jumeau chemise.
