Description
58" (147 cm.) overall. 43" excluding helmet. The bisque head with blue glass paperweight eyes, closed mouth and blonde human hair is mounted on mannequin form; the form having firm torso with black fabric cover, wooden arms with articulation at shoulders and elbows, wooden lower legs with carved and painted black heeled boots. Condition: head is restored, mannequin body and costume are excellent with few light spots on vest. Comments: French, circa 1885, the luxury detail indicates presentation as a marketing or exhibition costume. Value Points: fine early mannequin body with carved wooden boots, wearing outstanding military parade costume which includes such extraordinary details as raised emblems on helmet and shield, metallic epaulets, hip-high leggings with 26 brass buttons, well-detailed sword and majestic helmet.
