18" (46 cm.) Slender adult doll with pressed and painted facial features, darkened complexion, brown side-glancing eyes, coral-shaded lips, elongated body with stitched-on costume in vibrant harlequin pattern of pink, fuschia, black and green felt with jointed arms and hips, felt ruffled collar, black felt cap and mask, and wooden-heeled felt shoes. Condition: very good, some fading. Comments: Lenci, circa 1924, the doll was likely from the series of dolls shown in a photograph in their 1924 catalog titled "Carnaval de Venise", depicting an exhibit of Lenci salon "carnavel" dolls at the Magasin de Printemps of Paris that year. Value Points: rare early model with unique ruffled collar, heeled shoes, and carrying a painted baton.
