17" (43 cm.) Bisque socket head with elongated facial shape depicting older child, painted blue eyes in deeply-defined eye sockets, heavily-modeled upper eyelids, dark upper eyeliner, short single-stroke brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with shaded and accented lips, brunette mohair wig in side coiled braids, composition and wooden ball-jointed body, antique cotton dress, undergarments, stockings, white kidskin ankle boots. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 150 S&H 0 1/2 (head) Heinrich Handwerck (body). Comments: Simon and Halbig, from the firm's rare art character series, circa 1910. Value Points: very fine quality of bisque and modeling, original wig, body, body finish, and likely original costume on the rare doll.
