23" (58 cm.) Bisque shoulder head of adult lady with elongated throat and sculpted blonde hair in unusual side-swept coiffure brushed from face into looped curls, decorated with gold beads, sculpted fan and gilt-edged blue bow, cobalt blue glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accented line, pierced ears, sculpted bodice with Dresden-style purple lustre ruffles, white beading and painted purple embroidery, muslin stitch-jointed body with sewn-on stockings and shoes, leather arms. Condition: generally excellent, one loop of blue hair bow missing. Comments: Germany, Alt, Beck and Gottschalk, circa 1870. Value Points: exceptional rarity details include glass eyes, three-element decoration of hair, very fancy Dresden bodice, and gorgeous early silk costume.
