20" (51 cm.) Bisque socket head with very plump cheeks and chin, deep blue glass paperweight inset eyes with spiral threading, dark eyeliner, rose-blushed eye shadow, painted lashes, brushstroked and feathered brows, shaded nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with defined space between the outlined and shaded lips, impressed dimples at chin and philtrum, blonde mohair ringlet curled wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: F 9 G. Comments: Gaultier, circa 1882. Value Points: very fine modeling highlighted by blushed plump cheeks and beautifully defined lips, splendid eyes, lovely antique peach costume with Belgian lace, undergarments, shoes, socks, especially fine woolen bonnet with silk frou-frou ruffles and broderie Anglaise, and wooden-handled parasol.
