Solid domed bisque socket head with sculpted short brown curls peeking beneath a sculpted Prussian helmet, brown glass side-glancing googly eyes, painted short curly lashes, short feathered brows, accented nostrils, slightly parted lips in smiling expression, composition and wooden fully jointed body, antique flannel uniform with brass buttons, leather boots. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Dep Elite D 1. Comments: Max Handwerck, circa 1918, from the firm's series of googly dolls with sculpted helmets. Value Points: rare model with excellent quality of bisque and painting, well-detailed glazed hair, endearing smile with dimpled lip corners.
