Description
14" (36 cm.) overall. 5" to waist. Waist-up porcelain half-doll with sculpted blonde hair beneath a tall Dutch cap with side flaps that is decorated with white beading and roses, sculpted costume includes striped shawl, with extended arms holding a porcelain tray with chocolate pot, sugar and creamer, attached to wire underframe with skirt and apron, designed for use as tea cozy. Excellent condition. Goebel, circa 1915, the popular model was inspired by the 19th century painting, La Belle Chocolatiere, by Liotard which became the symbol for Baker's Chocolate Co. The basic theme was created in many variations of costume and painting.
