12" (30 cm.) Bisque socket head with rounded plump face, blue glass wire-lever sleep eyes, painted lashes, rose-blushed eyeshadow, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, pale outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over Steiner pate, Steiner composition fully-jointed body with straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Sie A 2/0 (incised, head) Steiner Bte SGDG Bourgoin (red stamp, head) (Steiner caduceus stamp on torso). Comments: Jules Steiner, circa 1884. Value Points: among the rarest of the early Steiner bebe models, few are found today, this being an especially beautiful example with original signed eyes and body, original body finish, wearing lovely antique costume and bonnet, along with 12" l. French doll trunk and with a trousseau of six additional dresses, of which four are antique.
