12" (30 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta head turned to the side, sculpted hair peeking from the side of a modeled green snood which captures the remainder of her hair and is decorated with a red bow, enamel eyes, heavily-modeled eyelids, firmly-set lips, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, painted blue stockings, black shoes and brown buckles, wearing original burgundy silk dress with gilt braid and paillettes, and carrying a woven basket of earthenware fish. Excellent condition. Neapolitan, mid-1700s, rare modeled snood with excellent detail of sculpting.
