18" (46 cm.) Solid domed bisque socket head, painted blonde hair, pronounced ears, intaglio sculpted blue eyes with large black pupils, black and incised upper eyeliner, angled brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with deep scowling expression, shaded lips, composition and wooden ball-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: L 174 H. Comments: Germany, circa 1912, mystery maker from that firm's art character series. Value Points: all original doll with highly characterized expression, finest bisque, sculpting and painting, impressed crinkles at sides of mouth and double chin, original very elaborate Scottish costume.
