18" (46 cm.) Pressed bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, amber brown glass paperweight inset eyes, thick dark eyeliner, painted dark lashes, mauve blushed eye shadow, feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with outlined and shaded lips, pierced ears, brunette lambswool wig over cork pate, plump kid bebe body with square-cut collarette, gusset jointing at hips and knees, bisque forearms with separately sculpted fingers. Condition: generally excellent, tiny chip on one left fingertip. Marks: 1. Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, his first period bebe, circa 1877, presented in his marketing as Bebe Brevete. Value Points: a gentle-featured bebe with delicate features, most delicate bisque with subtle blushing and rich eye shadow has very sturdy original body, and very lovely antique costume including original Bru shoes, signed "B".
