14" (36 cm.) All carved wooden doll with heart-shaped face, elongated throat, black painted hair with tuck comb, shaded grey detail around the face, tuck comb and spit curls in front of each ear, painted facial features, outlined blue eyes, tiny mouth, little pointy chin, shapely bosom and waist, dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Grodnertal, circa 1840. Value Points: flawless original finish with dainty face, wearing original brown velvet dress with silk twill skirt, and elaborate turban hat with oversized bow. An aged paper scrap attached to skirt reads "costume of the 13th century".
