14" (36 cm.) All wooden doll with one-piece head and torso, rounded face, elongated throat, shapely bosom and waist, black painted hair with tuck comb and shaded curls around the face, painted features, blue eyes, tiny mouth, dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Grodnertal, circa 1840. Value Points: the doll wears original costume of green homespun with applied gilt paper accents, metallic belt, wrapped shoes, and a long hooded cape over matching turban edged by braided black beads, with old ink-written attached paper "costume of the 11th century".
