Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, small blue glass enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner, delicately painted lashes, arched feathered brows, accented nostrils of aquiline nose, accented eye corners, closed mouth with gentle enigmatic smile on the pale accented lips, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig with interwoven rose silk ribbons, cork pate, wooden poupee body with shapely torso, curved derriere, dowel jointing at shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips and knees, deluxe swivel jointing at waist and upper thighs. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: G. Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1872, his rare and distinctive portrait poupee, believed to be inspired by the beloved Empress Eugenie. Value Points: exquisite modeling and bisque enhancing the smiling expression, original fine wig, rare all-wooden fully articulated body, wonderful antique three-piece gown, undergarments, stockings, and shoes.
