14" (36 cm.) All wooden doll with one-piece head and torso, rounded face, elongated throat, shapely bosom and waist, black painted hair with shaded curls around the face and surmounted by a braided topknot wig, painted features, blue eyes, tiny mouth, dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Grodnertal, circa 1840. Value Points: rare wigged coiffure enhances the elaborate original costume of silk and green velvet with rose lining, trimmed by gilt metallic braid.
