14" (36 cm.) l. 8" h. The wooden writing table/desk has elaborately carved brackets with gilt finish, and black lacquer finish on table tops and legs with gilt designs; there are two hidden drawers and a pull-back top to reveal hand-stamped leather writing surfaces and another hidden compartment. Excellent condition. French, mid-1900s, in the 19th century Chinoiserie manner.
