Description
7" (18 cm.) An elaborate gilt bronze frame with ornate carving and embossed gilt metal backs has three hinged panels, the center having an inset porcelain faced clock which winds at the back. The panels are decorated with three romantic couples in the Louis XVI manner as depicted by Watteau, and with surmounting panels of winged cherubs. Excellent condition, clock may not be functioning. Austria, late 19th century.
