8" (20 cm.) The champagne-colored mohair teddy has shortened torso and limbs, swivel head, amber glass eyes, stitched ears, embroidered nose, felt paw pads and is wearing original orange felt wide-brimmed hat, green scarf, tall brown leather boots. Very good condition, some dustiness. The bear has original metal button, yellow cloth tag, and original paper label "Nimrod Teddy" with Eulan on reverse. Germany, Steiff, 1950s, the model was particularly inspired by tales of Teddy Roosevelt's great bear hunt; in biblical lore Nimrod symbolically indicates a mighty hunter.
