12" (30 cm.) Carved wooden head with defined and tinted facial featues,black painted hair with plucked forehead line and rolled chignon with comb,firmly stuffed muslin body with small bound feet. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Chinese Door of Hope Mission,circa 1910,depicting the traditional Bride. Value Points: the Bride has very rare original dark complexion,rare hair details,and is wearing an extraordinary costume with elaborate embroidery of the skirt and tunic,bead and pearl decorated headdress with silk facial veil,and tiny bound feet.
