15" (38 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, heart-shaped elongated face, articulation at the neck allowing the head to tilt side-to-side and forward and backward as well as swivel, almond-shaped cobalt blue glass enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, arched feathered brows, accented nostrils of aquiline nose, closed mouth with primly-smiling lips, pronounced accent line between the lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, all-wooden shapely poupee body with dowel-articulation at the shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, and knees, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: E. 2 Depose G. (shoulderplate). Comments: French, circa 1866, an identical portrait model is known with the markings of Dehors who registered his unique neck articulation in 1866. Value Points: rarity of the portrait face is rivaled only by its beauty and fine quality of bisque, complexion and painting, wonderfully-articulated wooden body.
