Description
16" (41 cm.) A bisque-head jester with blue glass eyes, painted features, open mouth, four porcelain teeth, blonde fleecy hair, carton torso containing clockwork mechanism, hinged legs and arms, is wearing an original jester costume of gold and coral silk, and is standing behind a two-wheeled cart that supports a large drum. The drum is attached to the doll by a velvet-covered metal rod, and when wound, the jester marches along, while the wheels of the cart turn, and he clangs the cymbals and beats the drum. Condition: generally excellent. Mechanism functions well. Comments: for the French market, circa 1900. Value Points: a delightful and charming toy.
