11" (28 cm.) Bisque swivel head with ebony black complexion, on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate with sculpted bosom and shoulder blades, dark amber-brown glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, black brushstroked brows, closed mouth with coral shaded lips and hint of teeth, pierced ears, black fleecy hair over cork pate, tinted black kid bebe body with gusset-jointing, black bisque lower arms. Condition: bisque excellent, body is original albeit finish worn, uncertain if bisque hands are original. Marks: 0 (head) (original worn Bebe Bru paper label on front torso). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1882. Value Points: most endearing petite size of the very rare black-complexioned Bru bebe, with flawless rich complexion, original body, early silk costume and bonnet and original leather shoes marked "Bru Jne Paris" in oval.
