19" (48 cm.) Bisque socket head, deep blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, lushly-painted lashes, mauve-blushed eyeshadow, brushstroked and multi-feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with richly-accented lips, dimpled philtrum, chin and lip corners, separately-sculpted pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body with straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Depose Jumeau 8 (incised, and artist checkmarks on head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, the incised depose model was made for one year only, 1885. Value Points: superb sculpting, bisque and painting, original body and body finish, original wig and pate, the bebe is wearing her original couturier costume from the Ernestine Jumeau workshops, comprising plaid velvet dress with matching jacket trimmed with red satin and gold buttons, beautifully constructed matching bonnet with lavish ribbon and crepe-de-chine trim, undergarments, black knit stockings, black leather shoes signed "Bebe Jumeau Depose 8".
