Description
17" (43 cm.) Bisque shoulder head with very plump rounded face, painted down-glancing blue eyes with darker iris rims, pronounced glaze on lower eyes, heavy eyelids, thick black eyeliner, painted all-around lashes, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with pale accented lips, brunette human hair over cork pate, shapely kid poupee body with gusset-jointing at elbows, hips and knees, stitched and separated fingers. Condition: generally excellent, tiny firing flaw at lower left shoulder plate, body is not original. Comments: Adelaide Huret, circa 1860. Value Points: an especially beautiful example whose eye glaze and heavy eyelids lend a fine dreamy look to the face, lovely bisque and painting, and wearing antique brown taffeta gown with fringe trim, blouse, undergarments, socks, shoes, and a splendid bonnet.
