23" (58 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta shoulderhead of oval-faced lady with elongated throat, enamel eyes, aquiline nose, brown sculpted hair waved away from her face into a captured loose chignon at the back of head and long curls onto her shoulders, with painted blue hair ribbon, sculpted tips of ear lobes, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, elongated slender bare feet, ivory silk costume and elaborate coiffe with pearl coronet. Excellent condition. Neapolitan, late 1700s.
